CAVEAT
The second advance single from Zilqy’s first full-length album, Birth of Riot, is “CAVEAT.”
Originally conceived by drummer Kano, “CAVEAT” is a modern metal track with the fastest BPM in Zilqy’s history. From the opening moments, relentless two-beat drumming drives the song forward with overwhelming speed, while uncompromising heaviness runs throughout, making it one of the most aggressive tracks on the album.
In contrast, the chorus bursts wide open with striking synth sounds and a soaring, expansive melody, creating a vivid contrast between razor-sharp heaviness and dynamic melody. These bold dynamics embody Zilqy’s sound concept of “balancing heaviness with universal appeal,” making “CAVEAT” a track destined to ignite massive mosh pits when performed live.
Lyrically, the song portrays people being absorbed into vast systems in a modern society increasingly driven by convenience and efficiency. While confronting the suffocating sense of restriction and confinement that comes with it, the lyrics express a determination to push beyond one’s limits through one’s own will and step into a new stage.
Zilqy also performed “CAVEAT” at their first-ever SUMMER SONIC appearance in August 2026, igniting an overwhelming response from the crowd. Despite being their debut appearance, the band made a powerful impression, with the performance highlighting their potential to break beyond Japan’s domestic metal scene and step onto even bigger stages.
With the excitement of SUMMER SONIC still fresh, “CAVEAT,” unleashed onstage at the festival, is now set to be unleashed upon the world as a recorded track.
