Zilqy’s first full-length album, Birth of Riot, marks the beginning of a new movement that unfolds through both the album and the nationwide tour. The title does not represent change imposed from the outside. Instead, it represents questioning the status quo, thinking for oneself, and taking the first step through one’s own conviction. As those individual acts resonate with one another, they grow into something far greater. Birth of Riot captures the moment where that movement begins.

The album’s sonic concept is “the coexistence of heaviness and universality.” Built upon crushing guitar riffs and breakdowns inspired by modern metal, the songs combine striking synth textures with memorable melodies, creating powerful hooks without sacrificing intensity. By balancing the aggression of modern metal with melodies capable of resonating beyond genre boundaries, Zilqy defines its own musical identity as Post-Melodic Nu Metal.

All lyrics were written by vocalist Anna, who explores themes of inner conflict, isolation, fear, and loss while portraying individuals who choose to shape their own future through personal conviction. Written entirely in English, the lyrics deliver a message intended to resonate with listeners around the world.

For Birth of Riot, bassist Miho, guitarist Toki, and drummer Kano each contributed musical concepts and song ideas, while Anna developed the lyrical themes and vocal melodies that define the album’s world. Building upon the creative partnership established on the previous release with Toshi-Fj and MACKY, the band welcomed rui as a new collaborator, further expanding the creative team. Mixing and mastering were once again handled by Lance Prenc, whose production brings the album’s concept of “the coexistence of heaviness and universality” to life through a world-class modern metal sound.

Birth of Riot is not the destination—it is the beginning. As these songs meet audiences on stage, the ideas behind the album will continue to grow, evolving into something larger with every performance.
